Fitness/Wellness is not just for our bodies, but a modality which can involve our physical core as well as our “core-being.” At Grace Studios, I believe that your mentality and spirit are just as important as your body, and I build a fitness plan with an open heart and an emphasis on self care outside of the studio. Fitness fuels our bodies, but wellness begins with mindset and spirit, where we encourage and share with each other, any time!

PERSONALIZED TRAINING

for all levels of fitness

From professional athletes to people in midlife, personalized training begins with a consultation where we will discuss your current physical condition, and set your goals. The sessions are based in the Pilates Method and other modalities, which will be fine-tuned to the client’s unique needs. For some, flexibility and range of motion will be the main focus, and for others strength and balance will take precedence.

Pilates

In a typical Pilates session, clients begin on the reformer with footwork. From there, they will move through a series of exercises to “organize the spine” such as flexion/forward bending, extension/gentle backward bending, side bending, and spinal rotation. Clients will learn to focus on breathing while working through posture and balance during their sessions. Pilates is all-encompassing because it strengthens your body as you lengthen your muscles so that you become more flexible, more pliable, and more agile. Rhythmic motion paired with breathing is both invigorating and relaxing.

Yoga

A private or small group yoga session involves more static postures. Here we begin and remain on the mat with a warm-up that is choreographed to “organize the spine.” In a workout inspired by a blend of Hatha/Iyengar yoga styles, we will move through a basic yoga flow that would include all of the spinal movements. A typical session begins with standing postures, then transitions to floor postures, and ends in savasana (resting pose and meditation).

Therapeutic Stretch

Therapeutic Stretch sessions are for those individuals in need of a more passive and assisted set of stretches, where all major muscle groups are attended to, from head to toe. The client remains seated or lying down on the table as we worked together to relieve muscle tightness and tension.
